Prague is the capital city and largest city of the Czech Republic, and one of the largest in Central Europe. It has served as the capital of the historic region of Bohemia for centuries. A magical city packed with bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes, it’s often compared to Paris in terms of its sheer beauty. Located along the swan-filled Vltava River for more than ten centuries, and escaping almost undamaged from WWII, the city’s medieval centre is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains one of the best-preserved of its kind, home to cobbled lanes, courtyards, countless cathedrals and churches. Now a vibrant and modern city, its music and arts scenes are positively buzzing, and its nightlife even more so, all helping to make Prague the most visited city in Central Europe in recent years.
