What to do in Paris – Gare de Lyon
Built in 1990 for the Universal Exposition, Gare de Lyon is perhaps the best known station in Paris. It was named, of course, after the city of Lyon, which is the most frequent arrival city of trains in this station. It is nowadays considered an outstanding example of contemporary art. But, incidentally, it is also a very good starting spot to explore Paris, since it is well linked and quite close to many valuable Parisian sights. A mention of the Bastille quarter is essential and the wonderful Place des Vosges, a square known for its vastly rich attendees and now blossoming with ateliers. Take your car and watch an artist at work there, or choose to breathe the true Parisian atmosphere by paying a visit to Belleville and Montmartre. You will feel like you are the main character of a movie.

These are two mustnotmiss places that are, unfortunately, too far to reach without a car. However, if you happen to be in Paris for work, you will perhaps need to take a look at “La Dèfense, the ultramodern financial quarter which lures an increasing number of visitors every day. To reach it from Gare de Lyon you just need to... keep going!
